Born and raised in New York but deeply connected to his multicultural community on the West Coast of Africa, Chef Sayyid Muhammed's journey into the culinary world began early. At the age of 14, he embarked on his career as a pastry apprentice at the Corinthia Atlantic Hotel and Resort, igniting a lifelong passion for the culinary arts. After graduating from culinary school in 2008 and earning a business degree in 2012, Chef Sayyid honed his skills under the mentorship of three master chefs, refining his expertise in a variety of culinary styles. A proud member of the American Chef Federation, he has showcased his talents in prestigious kitchens across the globe. Chef Sayyid’s culinary style is a fusion of American flavors with a unique twist inspired by his New York and North Carolina roots, as well as his West African heritage. Drawing from his classical French training and diverse culinary experiences, he expertly blends techniques and flavors from around the world to create innovative and captivating dishes that delight diners. With a culinary degree from Le Cordon Bleu College of Culinary Arts-Atlanta and a bachelor’s degree in Business Administration in Hospitality and Tourism Management, Chef Sayyid has held various leadership positions in renowned establishments, including Ruth’s Chris, Sheraton Suites, FLIK, Wolfgang Puck, and CineBistro. His journey has taken him from fine dining to motion picture catering, providing exquisite culinary experiences across the United States and Europe. Joining K5 Hospitality as the Executive Chef of 5Church Midtown in 2023, Chef Sayyid has quickly made his mark on Atlanta’s culinary scene, earning recognition as one of the top chefs in the city. With his passion for innovation, dedication to excellence, and commitment to showcasing the best of global cuisine, Chef Sayyid continues to elevate the dining experience for guests at 5Church Midtown and beyond.
