We are Sean and Anna Daily, proud proprietors of this beloved establishment, Rootstock. As residents of Woodstock since 1998, our interest in the downtown district blossomed in 2015, when signs of revitalization began to appear. It felt as though a light drew us to the area, inspiring us to create something truly special for our community to savor. Rootstock and Vine began as a wine and tapas bar, where we served exquisite wines from family-owned vineyards around the globe. With a modest yet modern kitchen, we crafted gourmet small plates and indulgent desserts to perfectly complement the fine wines. It wasn’t long before our community’s enthusiasm grew, and our guests began to crave more. They desired the aromatic and gastronomic experiences we delivered, wanting to linger longer and indulge further. We found immense joy in hosting life’s special occasions and live music events, becoming adept at creating unforgettable experiences. From wine pairing dinners to whiskey pairing dinners, we embraced every opportunity to explore new experiences. Our monthly wine and whiskey tastings became highly anticipated events, while our frequent live music performances added a lively rhythm to our offerings. In 2020, we decided to expand our horizons and enhance what Rootstock had to offer. We undertook a building expansion to accommodate a larger kitchen, a dedicated music and event space, and the much-anticipated private members’ whiskey club. Today, Rootstock stands as a testament to life’s moments rooted in love and quality.
